MQT Outdoor Skills CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER
August 10, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Outdoor Skills are activities that allow individuals to be more prepared to be in a wilderness environment. Ranging from shelter-building, fire-starting, and outdoor-cooking, these activities will combine education with outdoor fun!
Fire-Building will cover the basics of fire safety, how to start a fire, where to start a fire, and different ways to start a fire.
Shelter-Building will cover the basics of using natural materials (tree boughs, leaves, moss, etc.) to create a shelter for survival. This will cover a few different shelter designs, all with simplicity and effectiveness in-mind.
Outdoor-Cooking will cover the basics of cooking over a campfire, with ingredients being bought by SAIL SPAR. These meals will range from breakfast to dinner, and even dessert! We will also be going over fire-safety basics in this activity as well.
Please call 906-936-0919 for Jack, or 906-936-0918 for Gayle to register prior to event date. This is extremely important to us, as it allows us to bring the proper amount of equipment.
