Disability Advocate - IL Skills Development
Brief info

Hi! My name is Abbie! I was born and raised here in Marquette, where I also completed my schooling! I graduated from NMU in May of 2016 with a Bachelor’s of Science, majoring in Community Health Education! I’ve worked for Pathways as a Life Skills Technician and at Northcare Network as a Supports Intensity Scale Assessor, which has lead me to join this wonderful team here at SAIL!

On my down time, I love spending time with my friends and family, hooping, and photography! I also love meditation and yoga, as well as learning about astrology, tarot, and crystal healing! My favorite animal is an elephant, I love the color green, and I’m obsessed with Halloween and the Nightmare Before Christmas! If you want to know more, feel free to ask! I look forward to working with all of you and getting to know all of you as well!

A Few Kind Words

"Disability Network has allowed me to share ways to deal with social issues, given me new ideas about technology and other accommodations, helped me to share and release stress, and increased my self esteem."

Geri Taeckens

"As an intern at SAIL, I have been able to direct many people toward programs or organizations that may help people live more independently. Every time a goal is accomplished, the feeling of success is totally noticeable. Even with one client at a time, the community is noticing that this organization cares about our clients and the communities in which they serve."

Jennifer Webber

"I want to improve acceptance, community integration and employment opportunities for people in my community who have disabilities. They are individuals with strengths and challenges just like everyone else."
